Martin is the owner and founder of the Smile Oralcare practice. He moved to the area in 1981 and founded his own practice in 1983. For 17 years he helped it grow into a highly successful enterprise. Martin then decided that the time was right for a new kind of dental practice. Oralcare was developed over a 4 year period and finally came to fruition in February 2001.
Martin has two daughters and his wife, Caroline, is a head of lower school in a local prep school. He is a gadget freak and has more than a passing interest in wines. Martin particularly enjoys aesthetic (cosmetic) dentistry and working in partnership with patients to prevent dental disease. He is a practitioner of Hypnosis and uses a fast-phobia-cure for other phobias as well as dentistry. Outside of the practice Martin maintains strong links with the British Dental Association, where he is a member of the Executive Board. He is currently Chair of Finance, overseeing the Association’s turnover of £16 million. In the past he chaired the group that organises the National Dental Conference for the profession which has been in Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester in the last few years. |

Rowena is the visiting consultant orthodontist at the practice. Formerly the consultant at Peterborough District Hospital she is now at Addenbrookes in Cambridge. She is very highly qualified and enjoys the challenges of complex cases offered by hospital work as well as the more leisurely and intimate atmosphere of private practice. Rowena has successfully treated the children of several local dentists during her time at Oralcare – a testament to the high regard in which she is held locally. |

Dawn is part-time receptionist at the practice but does most days and is the most likely person to greet you on the front desk. Dawn has three grown up sons and has been a patient of Martins for around 20 years, he has looked after the boys since they were tiny. Dawn is also a chiropody practitioner in her own time. |

Having been with us quite a lot in the first few months of opening Carol then spent a few years with us providing relief cover whilst also running her own Fancy Dress Hire Business in March. Having sold the business she is now back as a dental nurse in training. Carol also has three children who are growing up rapidly. |

Karen is Martin's nurse; she joined us recently after working for many years as a dental nurse in Spalding. She has an enthusiasm for dentistry and after taking her national qualification she went on to gain qualifications in Radiography, Oral Health Education and Sedation. She is married to a golf fanatic and has no children but 2 very spoilt cats! |
