Looking
and feeling good is such an important part of our lives
today. We are encouraged to make the best of ourselves
from eating the right foods to regular visits to the
gym. We at Oralcare
are pleased to be able to offer help to enhance our
patients' sense of wellbeing through cosmetic dentistry.
We can discuss
what is best for you, from simple reshaping of tooth
tips, taking just a few minutes in the chair, to complex
restorative rehabilitation. We can show you photographs
of treatment we have completed for other patients and
give you a fully costed estimate.

The
following treatments are some
of the most popular we offer to improve appearance.
|
|
| |
|
| Braces, orthodontics charges |
| |
| |
Braces can be used
as successfully on adults as on children. Often we would need
to use fixed braces on adults. We have a visiting specialist
at Oralcare who will be able to outline the options with you. |
| |
|
| Bridges charges |
| |
| |
Where teeth have been lost we can often replace them with
artificial teeth fixed to their neighbours either by crowns
or by adhesive wings stuck to the inside of the adjacent tooth.
|
| |
|
| Crowns charges |
| |
| |
Crowns or caps are new outer shells
of tooth used to strengthen weak teeth or to improve appearance.
They can be made from porcelain, porcelain
bonded onto a hidden thin layer of metal (we use a gold alloy)
or glass ceramic (we normally use empress).
Sometimes we use crowns where teeth are twisted out of line.
It may be a quicker form of treatment than the use of braces.

| Dentures, artificial teeth charges |
| |
| |
False teeth needn’t look like false teeth. We use skilled
and artistic technicians who
work with us to create as natural or as pleasing an appearance
as you want.
Cosmetic dentistry isn’t always about brilliant white Hollywood
smiles, it can be about creating a smile which matches its
owner.

|
| White fillings charges |
| |
| |
We can usually offer white alternatives to amalgam for filling
teeth and would prefer to do so – after all you are our best
advertisements.
With small fillings we would usually use white (composite)
fillings anyway.
With larger fillings where one or more of the cusps (points)
on a tooth is missing or weakened we can offer laboratory
made plastic, porcelain or glass ceramic fillings which can
be bonded to the remaining tooth.

|
|
| Veneers: charges |
| |
| |
Thin shells of porcelain
or glass can be bonded to the front surface of teeth to make
them look better. Sometimes we need to shave off a thin layer
of tooth to make room. These are custom made in the laboratory
so this is a two-visit treatment |
| |
|
| Whitening or Bleaching: charges |
| |
| |
This process enhances the whiteness
of the tooth by bleaching the collagen that was left in the
tooth when it was formed. The procedure is harmless to the
structure of the tooth enamel. Collagen exists like microscopic
grout between the crystals of tooth enamael but doesn't serve
a structural function.
Britesmile:
This is a completely new process only licensed to a select
few dentists in the country of which we are proud to be one.
The treatment takes place in the surgery, takes about an hour
and a half and is much more effective than home treatments.
The
home technique involves taking moulds of your teeth from which
we make custom fitted vinyl overlays of your teeth. These
overlays, or trays, are filled with a small quantity of the
bleaching gel and are worn each morning and evening (for 20
to 30 minutes) for two weeks. After this time the teeth will
all be lighter in colour.
Please note that the process cannot
change the colour of existing fillings or crowns.

| |
| Please feel free to book
an appointment to discuss any of these options
without any obligation to proceed with treatment if you
decide they are not for you. |
