Harry's camera, film and prints
The camera
Harry’s camera is called a Gandolifi.
It is heavy and made from brass.
|
 |
 |
| The film
The negative is sized 10x8 inches and
gives the final print extraordinary detail. For example,
when photographing a creek with clouds beyond and bushes
in the foreground a small high quality camera would
capture these key features. However Harry’s camera also
reproduces pinsharp quite small objects in the field
of view and this gives the final image a special quality.

About Harry Cory
Wright
Harry uses just one camera, one lens and never carries much
film.
He began his professional career with private commissions
for promotional images and still life work for interior magazines
such as Country Living and Homes and Gardens.
Harry’s fascination with photographing the coast began in
the early '90s when he used a 35 mm Leica camera for an exhibiton
of photographs with subjects from Spain and the islands of
Lewis and Harris. If you ask Harry why the coastline inspires
he simply says “we all love to be by the sea; it’s so immediately
exciting”.
Since 1995 Harry has taken his photographs with the large
format Gandolfi camera, focusing on different elements of
the coastlines of Britain and Ireland. During the past three
years Harry's work has attracted a significant amount of national
press interest.
